Acupuncture has a proven track record for treating muscular-skeletal pain, but it is particularly beneficial in injuries resulting from car accidents. The most commonly reported injuries are whiplash, low back pain, arm/leg pain with numbness and/or tingling, or general muscle pain.

According the the Mayo clinic, whiplash patients can experience the following:
• Neck pain and stiffness
• Worsening of pain with neck movement
• Loss of range of motion in the neck
• Headaches, most often starting at the base of the skull
• Tenderness or pain in shoulder, upper back or arms
• Tingling or numbness in the arms
• Difficulty concentrating
• Dizziness

Acupuncture can help decrease pain, accelerate your body’s ability to heal and can have the added benefit of releasing endorphins to help reduce inflammation and calm the nervous system, as there is often an emotional component when involved in an accident.

In the state of Texas, medical bills resulting from car accidents are paid for by the Bodily Injury portion of your or the other driver’s car insurance. Texas requires residents to carry a minimum of $30,000 per person/$60,000 per accident for bodily injury.
